Deliver and check
Your goods arrive in the delivery window on your paperwork. We unload, set up furniture, and you check items off the same inventory.

- Binding estimate
- The price is locked in writing before the move. You pay that amount unless you add items or services.
- Non-binding estimate
- The final price is based on the actual weight of your shipment. Federal rules cap what you pay at delivery at 110% of the estimate; any balance above that is billed later.
- Binding not-to-exceed
- You pay the lower of the estimate or the actual weight-based price, so the estimate is your ceiling.

- Covers 60 cents per pound per item. A 25-pound TV that’s damaged would be worth $15. You must sign to choose it.
- Full value protection
- We repair the item, replace it, or pay its current market value. It costs extra, and it’s what you get by default if you don’t sign for released value.

Your First 30 Days in Rhode Island: License, Car and Inspection
Rhode Island gives new residents 30 days to switch both their license and their car registration, and the inspection clock starts as soon as the car is registered. Plan the steps before your first week is over.
Get Rhode Island car insurance
You need at least liability coverage from an insurer licensed in Rhode Island. Ask your current company whether it can move your policy.
Get your Rhode Island driver’s license within 30 days
Bring your California license, your Social Security number and two proofs of Rhode Island residency, such as a utility bill. A REAL ID from another state does not carry over automatically, so bring identity documents if you want one.
Get a VIN check, then title and register within 30 days
Every used car coming from out of state needs a VIN inspection from your local police department first. Call ahead, since not every department takes cash. Then bring your California title and the DMV forms to register. If a lender holds your title, you have to request it yourself.
Pass a safety and emissions inspection
New residents must have the car inspected within five business days of registering it. After that, inspections are due every two years. New cars are exempt for two years from purchase or until they reach 24,000 miles, whichever comes first.
