Fresno Furniture Donation 🪑 | Where to Donate Furniture + Donation Pickup in Fresno CA

Are you downsizing ahead of a Fresno move, redecorating, or clearing out space? While you can sell furniture and other items you no longer want, donating belongings allows you to support people in need in your community. Here are organizations that accept furniture donation in Fresno plus charities that offer donation pickup in the Fresno, California area.

Tax Deduction for Charitable Fresno Furniture Donation

You may be entitled to claim a tax deduction for charitable donations of household items, but you will need to itemize your deductions to do so. IRS Publication 526 explains how you can claim a deduction, how much you can deduct, and how to report your donations.

Before donating furniture and other household goods you plan to deduct, make sure you have an idea of the value. You can use IRS Publication 561 to help you. It’s up to you to assign a fair value to your items. The Salvation Army offers a Donation Value Guide to help you find an estimated value for commonly donated goods.

Don’t forget to get a receipt from the organization for contributions valued at $250 or more. The receipt should include a general description of the property.
